A few years ago, I leapt down the dark path of making chipboard boxes for games by making this set of custom bit-boxes for Le Havre, one of my favorite Uwe Rosenberg games. They sit nicely on the board, and they’re the the perfect size for the chits included in the game.

Then, BoardGameGeek had to go and screw it all up by making this amazing GeekUp Bit Set for the game.

Which, of course, necessitated me building some new boxes!

I didn’t have to rebuild all of them – iron, hides, and coal all still fit in the original boxes.

But it did force me to make new boxes for grain, fish, wood, cows, and clay. Now, they can all be stored nicely and fit well directly on the board, making setup a breeze.

In the process of building these, I decided to just finish off my complete storage solution by first creating a small box for the player pieces…

…and designing a simple storage tray for the cards in the box.

Everything fits so nicely in the box now, with the boards laying perfectly flat resting on the treasury box and the sleeved cards.

I really love how the whole thing turned out.

These boxes were created using the method in my Two-Piece Bit Box Tutorial. When I get some time, I’ll be creating and uploading the files to recreate these boxes to my tutorials GeekList on BGG and right here on www.pixelartmeeple.com.

Happy gaming, everyone!
